Farella Braun + Martel Moves Up Law360’s Diversity Snapshot Rankings

August 17, 2023 Announcement

Farella Braun + Martel was ranked among the most diverse law firms nationally in its size category, 101 to 250 attorneys, in Law360’s 2023 Diversity Snapshot, earning a #7 ranking and moving up from 16th place in the 2022 table.

Farella is among just 17% of law firms in the country to top the benchmarks for the 2023 Diversity Snapshot ranking. Law360's annual law firm survey collected diversity data from more than 280 U.S. firms, vereins with a U.S. component, or law firms with a substantial U.S. presence. Firms provided specific details on the racial and ethnic diversity of their attorneys by headcount as of Dec. 31, 2022.

“We are thrilled to both move up in the rankings and exceed the Law360 benchmarks,” said Farella Litigation Partner and Chief Talent and Inclusion Officer Sarah Good. “Our entire partnership has been focused on increasing the diversity of our partnership as well as our associate ranks and working towards greater equity, inclusion, and belonging in our firm, the legal profession, and our communities. It is gratifying to see these positive results. A diverse workforce is critical to our continued ability to provide superior and innovative service—a hallmark of our firm—to our clients. ”

Recent firm DEI recognition includes earning Midsize Mansfield Certification Plus status this year, materially surpassing Certification and Certification “Plus” benchmarks. Additionally, Farella has been named a Compass Award winner for three years in a row by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), recognizing law firms and corporations that show a strong commitment to building more diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession.

Farella Braun + Martel is a leading Northern California law firm representing corporate and private clients in sophisticated business transactions and complex commercial, civil, and criminal litigation. Clients seek our imaginative legal solutions and the dynamism and intellectual creativity of our lawyers.
