Kelly Matayoshi Named Alumni of the Year by UC Law San Francisco
Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that partner Kelly M. Matayoshi, a 2012 UC Law San Francisco graduate, was honored with the UC Law SF’s Alum of the Year Award. The award recognizes an individual whose engagement and volunteerism have significantly enriched the UC Law SF community, embodying the spirit of giving back.
Kelly serves on the UC Law San Francisco Foundation Board of Trustees and on the advisory board for the Center for Litigation and Courts. She has served as president of the Alumni Association Board of Governors. Kelly has guest-lectured in law classes and coached and mentored students in Moot Court.
The awards were presented on April 4 at UC Law SF’s all-alumni reception at San Francisco City Hall, during the college’s annual Spring Week celebrating the law school’s alumni community. Rachel Proffitt ’02, partner and CEO of Cooley LLP, was recognized with the inaugural Chancellor’s Alumni of Distinction Award. In her law practice, Kelly represents a broad range of companies in complex business and employment litigation. She serves as president of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area and is a member of the San Francisco Superior Court Committee on the Elimination of Bias. Last year, she was a managing director for the ABA Section of Litigation. She is a past president of the Barristers Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco. Kelly was named a 2024 “Lawyers on the Fast Track” winner by Law.com and The Recorder and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) named her to its list of 2024’s “Best Under 40.”
