Nevada Links Wins Summary Judgment Motion in Case Brought by United States

February 26, 2021 Announcement

Northern California legal powerhouse Farella Braun + Martel successfully defended Nevada Links, Inc., the owner of a championship golf course in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a $100 million lawsuit brought by the United States alleging that a land lease between Nevada Links and Clark County violated the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act administered by the Bureau of Land Management.

On February 24, following more than three years of litigation, the U.S District Court District of Nevada granted Nevada Links’ summary judgment motion and Clark County’s summary judgment motion, and denied the United States’ summary judgment motion. The court agreed with the Farella team’s position that the statute of limitations had expired before the United States filed suit and entered judgment in favor of Nevada Links and Clark County.

The case is the United States v. County of Clark, Nevada Links, Inc., U.S. District Court District of Nevada. Read the court order here.

The Farella team representing Nevada Links was led by Tony Schoenberg and included David Lazerwitz, Kelly Matayoshi, Laura Pedersen, and Tony Allen.
