Litigation Case Clerk (Hybrid Remote and In-office)

Farella Braun + Martel is seeking a motivated college graduate to join our Paralegal Department as a Case Clerk. The Case Clerk supports the attorneys and paralegals with the delivery of excellent client service through document management, clerical and technical tasks for discovery, and trial work that requires accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and some office experience.

Corporate/Transactional Sr. Paralegal (Possible Full-time Remote in CA)

Farella Braun + Martel is currently seeking a Corporate/Transactional Sr. Paralegal to support our attorneys in our Corporate practice area. The ideal candidate should have at least five years paralegal experience; all levels encouraged to apply.

Recruiting, Development and Inclusion Programs Coordinator

Associate - Environmental Litigation

Farella Braun + Martel is currently looking for an Environmental Litigation Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated background in environmental practice, including strong litigation, regulatory and administrative skills, and experience commensurate with their level. CEQA/Land Use litigation experience would also be favorably considered.

Chief Operating Officer

Farella Braun + Martel LLP is seeking an experienced law firm leader with keen business acumen to head our management team and work closely with our executive team to meet the firm's strategic goals.  The ideal candidate will have strong finance, management, communication and proactive problem- solving skills. A bachelor’s degree is required and preferably an advanced degree in finance or management.  A minimum of 7 years of experience in a management role at a professional service firm is required.

Associate - Real Estate

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel is currently looking for a Real Estate Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience.  The ideal candidate would have a broad based real estate practice, with experience in acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, financing, joint ventures and development.  However, the firm will consider candidates who have worked in other transactional practices and desire to transition their practices to real estate.

Farella Braun + Martel LLP seeks an associate with 5-7 years of experience for its Family Wealth practice. Candidates should have experience commensurate with their level in estate planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Experience with family offices issues a plus.

Non-Partnership Track Attorney – Employment Litigation

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel LLP seeks an attorney to join its employment litigation and counseling practice as a non-partnership track salaried staff attorney. The candidate will work with the employment partners and associates on employment litigation matters in state and federal court and arbitration, and will support the group in providing employment advice and counseling to clients. Applicant should have at least 4 years of experience in California, including deposition experience. The successful candidate must have a high level of academic achievement and strong legal writing skills.

Associate - Intellectual Property

Farella Braun + Martel LLP seeks a skilled and highly qualified associate with 2 to 4 years of intellectual property litigation experience to join its practice. The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate, masters degree or work experience in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science, as well as previous intellectual property litigation experience. The candidate should have a high level of academic achievement from a highly ranked law school, strong legal writing and oral presentation skills and experience with IP litigation matters.

Associate – Family Office

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel is seeking to fill open positions in its private client industry group. Private Client Industry Group team members work on a variety of matters that range from traditional income tax planning to domestic and foreign estate & gift tax planning to private foundation / exempt organization planning to business entity planning and other cutting edge family office legal work. While there will be an opportunity for the attorneys hired to work and assist in all private client industry group matters, the open positions relate primarily to assisting on family office legal work. Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing research across a wide range of subject areas (not just traditional tax and estate / gift matters) and synthesizing information to come up with bottom-line recommendations
  • Helping family office clients and other members of the private client industry group “issue-spot” and then shepherd the work all the way from issue-spotting to completion
  • Coordinating and implementing work done by outside counsel in other jurisdictions (both states outside of California and other countries)
  • Helping family office clients and other members of the private client industry group draft and review contracts, business entity documents, and other legal documents of all types (not just traditional wills and trusts)

Outstanding research, analysis, and communication skills are a must, as is self-initiative, resourcefulness, and a teamwork mindset. A proven track record (whether as a transactional tax lawyer, estate & gift lawyer, corporate lawyer, or general business lawyer) for working through complex, high-stakes financial and/or legal concerns involving multiple practice areas is also required. Farella will be considering candidates with at least 2 years of previous legal experience.

Partner - Business Transaction

Farella Braun + Martel seeks lateral business transaction partners for our San Francisco office with the ability to bring and manage an established book of business. The opportunity is available to partners at all seniority levels. Junior partners with growing practices and who wish to have greater autonomy than larger firms offer will be strongly considered. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a range of clients from closely held family businesses to large and complex business enterprises. A successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial approach to the practice of law and will demonstrate a desire and commitment to developing new business and expanding the firm’s relationships with existing clients. Candidates should be comfortable working in teams and contributing to the firm’s business development initiatives and industry groups. A non-exclusive list of such groups includes those serving the technology, renewable energy, real estate, wine, cannabis and food and beverage industries.

Partner - Wine Industry

St. Helena

Farella Braun + Martel is seeking one or more lateral transactional partners with wine industry experience, whether that experience is focused on transactional matters, real estate and land use and/or estates and trusts. Our wine industry practice emphasizes all of these areas and all are a part of our full service offering. A commitment to the wine industry and a desire to be a part of a growing team is more important to us than a particular legal skill set. While our wine industry practice is centered in our St. Helena office, an appropriate candidate could be a primary resident of either of our offices, but would be expected to spend significant time in both locations.
