Head of Farella’s Patent Office Litigation practice, Jim is focused on solving complex IP disputes for major technology clients in federal courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He has pioneered the strategic use of patent office litigation to save his clients time, money, and uncertainty. He also has extensive experience litigating patents in federal district courts around the United States, dealing with technologies as diverse as cable networks, disk drives, video networking, electronic locks, lightning-protected gas tubing, and pharmaceuticals. In addition to his legal credentials, he is an electrical engineer with software industry experience, giving him credibility with judges, juries, and his clients’ technical experts.
