Farella Braun + Martel’s Charles Sink Co-Editor of Construction ADR

SAN FRANCISCO, January 21, 2014 – Farella Braun + Martel LLP Construction Partner Charles Sink is co-editor of the new book Construction ADR published by the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on the Construction Industry (Forum). The new book may be the only publication devoted to construction ADR.

The book includes 29 chapters authored by members of the Forum across the country, including chapters on “Types of Arbitration in Construction” and “Consolidation and Joinder” by Sink and “Introduction to Mediation” by Farella Of Counsel Alan Harris and Associate Kelly Matayoshi.

The book’s website will feature updates on alternative dispute resolution in the construction industry. 

The ABA Forum on the Construction Industry is the largest organization of construction lawyers in the United States. The Forum’s roughly 6,000 members and associates are drawn from all types of construction practice – law firms large and small, solo practitioners, in-house and government counsel, as well as construction professionals and the public sector.

Sink is a Fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers. He has more than 35 years of commercial litigation experience involving construction and energy claims, and related insurance issues. He has litigated claims related to many forms of public and private infrastructure including conventional, nuclear, and alternative energy power plants; mass transit systems; sewage treatment plants; bridges and roads; commercial, governmental, and office buildings; housing; and hospitals. Recent experience includes contracts and due diligence work for five utility-scale solar projects (California); $435 million transit system lawsuit (west coast); $450 million power plant claim (midwest); $200 million nuclear power plant dispute (international); $120 million pipeline arbitration (international); and $35 million bond claim (Pacific Rim).
