Farella Represents Sports Industry Veterans in Forming SPAC RedBall Acquisition Corp.

SAN FRANCISCO, July 28, 2020: Farella Braun + Martel represented sports industry veterans Billy Beane, the EVP of Baseball Operations for the Oakland A's, and Luke Bornn, Vice President, Strategy and Analytics at the Sacramento Kings, as founders of special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) RedBall Acquisition Corp. Beane will serve as the company’s Co-Chairman and Bornn will serve as the company’s Executive Vice President.

After filing its registration statement on July 28 with the SEC, RedBall Acquisition Corp. plans to raise up to $500 million through an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange (RBAC.U) to acquire one or more target businesses in the sports, media, and data analytics sectors, with a focus on professional sports franchises.
