Biography

Shanti Eagle is a dedicated advocate of policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes. She uses creative, strategic approaches to maximize her clients’ recoveries.

Shanti represents large corporate clients, small businesses, and individuals pursuing coverage under a variety of insurance policies, including general liability (CGL), errors & omissions liability (E&O), directors & officers liability (D&O), employment practices liability (EPL), and commercial and first-party property insurance.

Shanti assists clients with the claims process, alongside their insurance brokers, and works closely with clients and defense counsel to provide guidance regarding litigation and settlement strategies. She has frequent success convincing carriers to provide a defense despite having previously denied coverage, and in obtaining favorable defense rates. In addition, Shanti has broad experience litigating breach of contract and bad faith claims, including through appeal, in both state and federal court. She has won motions for summary judgment on the duty to defend, as well as motions to stay insurer-initiated declaratory relief actions.

During law school, Shanti served as a judicial extern with the Honorable Susan Illston of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She was a post-graduate fellow at the San Francisco Public Defender’s office.

She is fluent in Spanish.
