Winston Liaw Named a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow

Northern California legal powerhouse Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that Winston Liaw has been named a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow for 2024.

Winston joins a select group of experienced lawyers who have distinguished themselves within their organizations by being deeply engaged, indispensable to key clients and teams, invested in attorney mentoring and professional development, and on a trajectory toward leadership positions.

The LCLD Fellows program offers high-potential, mid-career attorneys from diverse backgrounds at LCLD Member organizations with professional and personal development opportunities as well as leadership training and relationship-building resources.

Winston represents technology companies in patent infringement litigation and other intellectual property matters. His clients have included cloud services, semiconductor, multimedia, telecommunications, and web technology companies, and he has obtained complete victories on numerous occasions. He has advised and represented clients in all aspects of litigation and counseled clients on patent acquisition and portfolio development. Winston has served as president of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Northern California and was a member of the 2020 class of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinders. He is recognized in Chambers USA as an Up-and-Coming Individual (California: IP – Patent Litigation), The Best Lawyers in America (Litigation - Patent, Litigation - Intellectual Property), and Managing Intellectual Property’s IP STARS as a Notable Practitioner. He earned his J.D. with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School.

Farella is an active member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity—an organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have pledged themselves, through its Leaders at the Front initiative and other means, to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession.
