Farella’s Eugene Mar Recognized Among “Lawyers on the Fast Track”

April 11, 2012 Accolades

SAN FRANCISCO, April 11, 2012 – The Recorder has named Farella Braun + Martel Intellectual Property Litigation Partner Eugene Y. Mar to its inaugural list of 50 "Fast Track" lawyers, recognizing California attorneys whose early accomplishments indicate they will be tomorrow’s top lawyers and leaders.

After reviewing more than 300 nominations, The Recorder editors chose 50 lawyers in their first 10 years out of law school. Nominees were judged on their accomplishments as leaders, lawyers and community members.

While Mar’s practice focuses on patent litigation, he regularly assists clients with all types of intellectual property disputes in the fields of computer software, microprocessor architecture, drug-eluting stents, capillary electrophoresis, chromatography, computer network storage, DVD encoding and encryption, the use of haptics in video game consoles and controllers, prepaid cards, payment card encryption and security, online downloadable media, and replaceable refrigerator water filters. Mar has repeatedly succeeded in obtaining complete verdicts in favor of his clients in courts across the U.S.

Mar currently chairs the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Intellectual Property Section, where he collaborates with a number of leading in-house intellectual property attorneys to present presentations on cutting-edge legal intellectual property issues to its members. He is also the current co-chair of the Intellectual Property Roundtable Sub-Committee, American Bar Association Litigation Section. Mar earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School (2003), where he was article editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology.
