Farella Braun + Martel Brings on Four Associates

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF., December 10, 2014 – Farella Braun + Martel LLP is pleased to announce the addition of four associates to its San Francisco office: Meg Manchester (Tax), Jeffrey Hamilton (Business Transactions), Matthew Cate (Business Litigation), and Julia Kropp (Intellectual Property Litigation).

 

Manchester counsels clients on personal and business tax issues as well as tax controversy matters. She has worked on equity offerings, merger and acquisition transactions, executive compensation planning, international tax structures and compliance, and nonprofit formation and governance matters. Manchester joins Farella from Stein Sperling in Maryland. She earned her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law (2012) and her J.D., with honors, from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (2008).

 

Hamilton’s business transactions practice includes counseling publicly traded and privately held companies in equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance and reporting compliance. He joins Farella from Davis Polk’s Menlo Park office. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in (2012), where he was a Hamilton Fellow and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar

 

Cate joins Farella’s Business Litigation Group from service as a volunteer attorney for the Orleans Public Defenders Office in New Orleans. Cate received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of Law (2013), where he was a senior articles editor of the Hastings Law Journal.

 

Kropp joins the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Prior to joining Farella, she served as a law clerk for Magistrate Judge Evelyn Furse in the District Court for Utah. Kropp received her J.D. from Stanford Law School (2013), where she served as symposium and senior editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review.
