Farella Braun + Martel Elevates Three To Partnership

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 6, 2005):  Farella Braun + Martel LLP announces today that three attorneys have been elevated to the partnership, effective January 1, 2006. The new partners are: Katherine Philippakis, Kevin Poloncarz, and Anthony P. Schoenberg.

KATHERINE PHILIPPAKIS is based in Farella Braun + Martel’s Wine Country Office in St. Helena, where her practice focuses on providing real estate, land use, and environmental representation for the wine industry and related clients. She earned her J.D. from Arizona State University, where she was Articles Editor for the Arizona State Law Journal and was elected Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers. She received a Ph.D. in Political Science from Arizona State University, an M.Litt. in Politics from Oxford University, an M.Phil. in Philosophy from the University of St. Andrews, and an A.B., magna cum laude, in Government from Harvard University.  Ms. Philippakis currently serves as chairman of the St. Helena Planning Commission.  

ANTHONY P. SCHOENBERG maintains a commercial litigation practice focusing on complex business matters. He represents clients in contract and licensing disputes, trade secret and trademark infringement actions, real estate disputes, product liability defense and claims under the unfair competition laws. He has also handled numerous disputes in private arbitration, including matters before the American Arbitration Association, the NASD and JAMS.   Mr. Schoenberg earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Hastings College of the Law, where he was Senior Notes Editor for the Hastings Law Journal, a member of the Thurston Honor Society and elected to Order of the Coif.  He received his B.A. in Social Science from the University of California at Berkeley.  He clerked for the Honorable Saundra Brown Armstrong of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

The election of these attorneys to the partnership is enhanced by the recent partner-level additions of Brian Keating to the Intellectual Property Department, Jonathan Lemberg to the Business Transactions practice, and Kate Ohlandt to the Tax and Family Wealth practice in the firm’s Wine Country office.
