Katherine Philippakis, chair of Farella's Wine Industry Group, spoke to Wine Searcher for the article, "Wine Tariffs Still Up in the Air."

In the article, Katherine said, "I don't expect anything to get resolved quickly. There's clearly going to be a fight over his right to levy tariffs over section 122."

She said US domestic wine production is also being hurt by tariffs because much of the equipment used to make wine is imported: barrels, corks, fermentation tanks, wine presses, etc.

"It's hitting the US wine industry at a hard time," Katherine said. "Let's say you're getting to the point where you were going to replace equipment in the winery. But now you're going to wait and see."
