Jeffrey Hamilton was quoted in this article on California's readiness to become the nation's largest retail marijuana market. In the article, Mr. Hamilton said that ultimately, towns and counties are going to want in on the enormous tax gains legalized marijuana can provide.
"Many local governments have initially banned cannabis businesses, but many of these bans were in response to a deadline to make a decision and we expect many of these bans to be replaced with a licensing system," Mr. Hamilton said. "The impact of the additional tax revenue and jobs that will be created by the industry is potentially enormous and most local governments are not going to want to miss out on these benefits."
